New Studio

After 5 years working in the cold and dark garage I now get to work in this place!

Have you guys ever heard of Better Built Barnes? They’re incredible. In a single day they framed the entire shed- windows, doors and all. After that it was up to me to manage the plumbing, electrical, and the remaining finish work.

I chose to cover every wall surface with pegboard and so far I have zero regrets. It’s inexpensive, lightweight, and you can literally hang *anything* anywhere. I have a small wall heater which keeps me warm during the winter and lots of windows to open for air circulation during the summer.

The structure is 10’ x 20’ and it is not a She Shed. It’s a Shtudio.

Better Built Barnes is a family owned business located in Oregon.

The guys drove up from Oregon with a truck and trailer full of lumber.
By the end of the day it had turned into a shed!
I hang works in progress and just about everything else on the wall to wall pegboard. You can see the water tank heater to the right of the work sink.
The small wall heater tucked under the desk is plenty to keep the entire studio warm.

  1. I am so envious of your shed! We have a shed, but it only stores our lawn mower. I have to make do with the office that I use for my yarn-crafts and programming.

      1. The peg board walls are very clever. I have a few of those in my office, though I use them mostly to store some crafting tools or yarn cakes that the husband made using my yarn winder.

Also, this is a test of the threaded commenting system. Huzzah!
